Temple Square

I wanted to share a few pictures from our trip to Temple Square. With BYU softball camp being the week before Cameron was due at the MTC, we simply stayed in Salt Lake for a few extra days. It gave us a chance to do some school shopping, and we also wanted to take the kids to Temple Square, because they'd never seen it in person. So, the day before we took Cameron to the MTC, we went to the Salt Lake Temple.

While we were in the temple, the girls saw the sights on Temple Square. All of these photos are taken by Alyssa, as they walked around. When we were done, we grabbed lunch downtown at the Nauvoo Cafe and went to ... Deseret Book!! It was a really great day.

There's no mistake on this first picture: it's the reflecting pool near the temple. I thought Alys did a great job with this.

There are several statues to see, including this of the mother playing with her children:
The Conference Center is just across the street. We would have taken the tour, if we'd had more time.
Seagull Monument and the Assembly House:
The Christus statue in one of the visitor's centers. Emma looks so TINY next to it:
Look closely on this next photo, and you'll see Darcie and Emma in the foreground on the left. It was such a gorgeous day that day!
I really love this shot that Alyssa got. The unknown couple is sitting at the edge of the pool, and they look so peaceful as she snuggles next to him. And they're not super young -- still happy after many years? Love it!
Can't help but get a classic temple shot:
Although there is a lot to see on Temple Square, I get the feeling that maybe Emma got a little bored here...
Finally Cameron, Todd, and I joined them:
(Yes, it's really us)
After spending over a week in Salt Lake, it was finally time to get Cameron to the MTC. Great memories with him for that final day together! I only wish that we could have had Brandon with us as well. Then it would have been complete.
