So, a different summer softball trip took us to Hillsboro, Oregon. It was another college exposure tournament, and also a camp that Alyssa participated in. As a pitcher, she needed to bring her own catcher for the camp.
At the time, Darcie was in recovery from a hyper-extended thumb injury. (One of the hazards of catching off Alyssa all the time: games AND practice.) So we asked Brooke, another catcher on their team, to come to the camp with us and catch off Alys. You might recognize her from the team picture in an earlier post. Brooke was not only great catching, she was also amazingly helpful, being really positive with Alys and helped calm her nerves.
On the way to Hillsboro, we stopped at Multnomah Falls:

Multnomah is pretty impressive! After the girls hiked up to the bridge, we took this shot by the stream at the bottom. Emma warmed right up to Brooke on this trip, and started going to her without hesitation:
