Dressing Up

Little girls may love to dress up, but big girls can have fun with it, too.

Last weekend, I was in the Tri-Cities with my girls, and we decided to hit a dress shop where we were looking for some modest formal gowns. In actuality, we were looking for something that Alyssa could wear for Junior Miss -- which she would like to participate in this coming spring. Unfortunately, we didn't find anything there that would work for her. (So it's on to a different store in a different city this weekend!)

But Darcie, on the other hand, was a bit more successful. We think we've found her dress for this spring's Freshman Dance. See if you can pick it out.

First we have Dress #1. Pretty with pickups, a funky half-bow, and a color that totally rocks with Darcie's own Autumn coloring.Maybe she's feeling a few leftover goddess moments. Either that or she missed her calling as a ballet dancer:
Dress #2. This shimmery copper-and-black combo also is an excellent color for her. While it's not a floor-length gown, it's still very formal, and flattering:
Dress #3. You might not be able to tell, but it's actually identical to Dress #2, just in a different color and a different size. Steel gray, and still with the black cumberbund look.

And the winner?

(Should I tell you?) Well, they're checking to see if they can get it. If they can, we're going with Dress #2. We love the color, we love how cute it is on her, and with the slightly larger size to fit better, it will be awesome. I hope it all comes together, and we hear back soon from the shop. Otherwise, we might need to shop some more. Would that be such a bad thing?
