Still Three Weeks....

We were on our way back home at this point. But we were splitting up the drive, and we had a day or two to spare, so we first drove to Cody, Wyoming, because it seemed like a likely place to stop for the night.
Do you know what Cody's claim to fame is? To keep you from dying of suspense, I'll tell you. It's Cody, as in Buffalo. Bill. Cody.

And they make the most of it. They have five museums there -- whodathunk? And actually, I recommend stopping there and seeing them -- when you have more than just a half hour like we did. Here's a quick photo summary....

The museum people were really nice and let us in for free (we arrived a half hour before they closed!).... and I wish we'd had half a day to spend there. One of the museums was completely dedicated to the ecosystems and wildlife of Yellowstone.

These shots are from the wild west section... the real wagon and gear is nicely accented by the real raven perched on top....

Buffalo Bill's private tent -- probably a bit more accomodating than the average tent...

Caught my eye.... the antique printing press. Remember this post  and this post?

Emma liked trying out the saddle...

And then there was the hat display ...

... because it's kind of fun to find your cowboy style....

... which can conceal your identity (sort of!) ...

... whether you're a city slicker or a country gal...

... and a good guy or a bad guy...

and maybe if you click on the photo, it will give you a hint for where we were headed next ....
